FAQ

How many badges are in PEAK?
There are 64 badges: 32 original ones from launch and 32 added with the Mesa, Alpine, Roots and Final Ascent updates.
What do you get for all badges?
Every badge unlocks one cosmetic. All 32 original badges unlock the Crown, and all 64 unlock the Ascendant Medal, which you can toggle on your sash with the passport in the airport.
Can you get badges on Tenderfoot?
Yes, every badge except Undead Encounter and Mentorship, because zombies and the Scoutmaster do not appear on Tenderfoot. No badges can be earned in custom runs.
Which badges depend on the daily map?
Badges tied to a specific region or object need the right island: 24 Karat and Esoterica via the Tomb (Mesa days with the Tomb open), Jester (at least two clown luggage), Bellringer, Exorcist, Wanderer, Well Rested and Medieval History (Gloom days), Mesa badges such as Daredevil and Cool Cucumber, and Bundled Up (Alpine days).

Today’s map-dependent badge checks

Build snapshot; checking live data…

Map date (17:00 UTC → next 17:00 UTC)
2026-10-27
Today’s biomes
Shore → Roots → Mesa → Caldera → The Kiln
24 Karat
Tomb open → carry the Ancient Idol to the Kiln lava. Stay alive for the sacrifice.
Jester
4 / 2 · Recommended
Bellringer
No Gloom today. Pick a Gloom rotation.
Tread Lightly
Map supports an attempt; completion still depends on your run.
Gourmand
Plan all four cooked foods and escape; map markers do not guarantee your food inventory.
Bookworm
Check the final Scoutmaster journal entry in-game; Scroll presence is not tracked by this map.

24 Karat: you do not need to wait for Mesa + Kiln

The Ancient Idol from the Tomb can also be sacrificed in the Citadel’s second-floor lava crucible on Gloom days. The badge description mentions the Kiln, but both lava destinations work. Keep the recipients alive when the Idol enters the lava.

Tread Lightly Not Unlocking?

  1. Use an eligible mode, not a Custom Run.
  2. Keep Spores at or below 25% throughout Roots; recovering after exceeding it does not establish a clean attempt.
  3. Record whether you restarted from a campfire; compare with a fresh expedition.
  4. Finish climbing out of Roots so the region-completion check can run.
  5. If it still fails, capture the version, mode and run evidence for a bug report.

Gourmand Not Unlocking?

  1. Use an eligible non-Custom expedition.
  2. Cook and personally eat Half-Coconut, Honeycomb, Yellow Winterberry and Egg in that expedition. Raw food does not count.
  3. Escape successfully after eating all four; eating alone is not the final check.
  4. If a checkpoint restart was involved, test a fresh expedition and report the difference.

Jester Not Unlocking?

  1. Confirm today’s map has at least two Clown Luggage.
  2. Open both yourself in one non-Custom expedition; a teammate opening one does not count for you.
  3. If you restarted at a campfire, compare with a fresh uninterrupted expedition before assuming the count persisted.

Bookworm Scroll Missing?

  1. Check that you are looking for the Scoutmaster’s final journal entry, not an arbitrary Scroll.
  2. Check the journal entry you actually read and whether another player interacted with it.
  3. Record the location, platform, version and restart history if it is missing. Scrolls are not indexed in the daily map.
  4. Recheck in a fresh eligible expedition; do not treat a missing Scroll as proof of a permanent lockout.

Report a Badge Bug

Send the badge name, platform, game version, mode / Ascent, map date, whether you restarted at a campfire, exact steps and screenshots or video. This contact reaches our guide team; include the evidence when reporting to the developer too.

How badges work

  • Badges show on your sash and in the Accolades screen of the pause menu. Unearned ones are greyed out with a “?”.
  • Every badge unlocks one cosmetic (hat, outfit or face item).
  • All 32 original badges unlock the Crown; all 64 unlock the Ascendant Medal.
  • Any difficulty counts, including Tenderfoot, except Undead Encounter and Mentorship.
  • Custom runs never award badges.
  • Progress that spans one expedition survives a disconnect and campfire saves.

Tips for the tricky ones

  • 24 Karat and Esoterica: covered step by step in the Tomb guide.
  • Jester: see the clown luggage guide; most islands have enough boxes.
  • Plunderer: 15 luggage is easy on Mesa days, which average far more boxes than Alpine days. The luggage types guide has the numbers.
  • Bellringer: a Gloom island has 7 belltowers; ring the five closest to your path.
  • Rule Zero: requires the Ascent 8 ending with all four amulets.
  • Clutch: needs three revives in one run; an Ancient Statue can bring several scouts back at once.
  • Medieval History: patches 2.5.a and 2.6.b fixed cases where loading a save or being revived in the Gloom or Citadel blocked it, so it is fair game again.
